a room is booked, is a transfer available from the airport?
We are pleased to offer a free transfer
from the airport to the Arqueologo hotel.

help do you offer if I arrive a day or so early?
If we cannot offer you a room in our hotel, we will attempt
to find equivalent
accommodation in a nearby hotel.

I have to pay tax if I am a foreigner?
All the foreigners staying less than 60 days in Peru and showing
a copy of their passport at the hotel reception will not pay
tax.

Our hotel has a restaurant and we
will be pleased to prepare you the food you wish if you are
a vegetarian. Please, take note that you will find many vegetarian
restaurants in the town center.

card whenever you want, in the hotel as well as in any establishment
in the city using this system.

What
is the BTC or Tourist ticket?
The BTC or Tourist ticket is a ticket, which allows you to visit
15 different places around Cusco and the Sacred Valley. On buying
this ticket, you are saving half the money you would pay paying
the entrance fees separately. The price is of 10.00 American
Dollars or 5.00 American Dollars for students having their ISIC
card. You can get the BTC in the first place you visit.

What
are the minimum costs to go to Machu Picchu?
First, you need to buy a train ticket, the backpacker train
ticket is less expensive and for foreigners. To get to the Machu
Picchu ruins, the price is of 4.5 US dollars by bus (only for
one way). The entrance to the ruins costs 20.00 US dollars;
the students only pay half price with their ISIC card.

What
is the Inca Trail?
The Inca Trail is a walking route
through the mountains above the Urubamba River, following (at
least partly) the course of an old Inca roadway leading to the
city of Machu Picchu. The trekking can be done from two to four
days. Nowadays, tourists need to do it through an agency. For
a two or four-day trekking, agencies can charge you from 90
US dollars to 500 US dollars (this includes a first class private
service). Agencies provide all the equipment for the trekking.
- What is the Sacred Valley?
In the Sacred Valley, you can visit Pisaq and its Sunday market,
Yucay, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. In all these places,
you can enjoy prehispanic archeological remains, built by the
Incas and that were used as fortresses and rest places. These
places are also ideal for your handicraft shopping.
- Can I get sick
due to the altitude?
Cusco is located at 3350 meter above the sea level. You can minimize
the effects of the altitude by having a positive attitude, walking
slowly, eating and drinking lightly. A few hours of rest are recommended
upon arrival in Cusco to allow time to adjust to the altitude.
Remedies are available to assist with the effects of the altitude
and you will be given coca tea upon check-in at the hotel.
- What is the
best season to go on a tour?
The best season is between April and October, which is the dry
season.
